Fall Is Back And So Is The Fountain Hills Farmers Market And Art On The Avenue

Oct 24

filed under: Living In Fountain Hills, Local Gems, Things To Do

Signs of fall are everywhere in Fountain Hills.  Halloween costumes in  the local Target, Candy Corn, Pumpkin pie at Safeway, cooler weather. . . finally. . . and yes the Fountain Hills Farmers Market and Art on the Avenue is back.  Every Thursday now (holidays excluded) till mid May of next year from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm local farmers and artists will be showing and selling their homemade, hand crafted and home grown items on the Avenue of the Fountains in Fountain Hills.

Last Thursday was the beginning of the markets return and I can tell you not only was it busy with folks enjoying all the goodies as well as the art, but it has definitely grown in size. Judi Yates, a well known local artists manages the weekly Thursday event. Within the last few months she has received many new artist applications. “We have attracted a larger group of artists from across the Valley with new and different products, including some very cool items for the home. Our long time artists tell me they have been busy with new products for the fall as well.”

Of course a farmer’s market would not be a farmer’s market without great homegrown, fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. Other wonderful selections include, wild-caught salmon, free-range eggs, natural cheeses, honey and homemade breads. If you have a sweet tooth, which I definitely do, there are Whoopie Pies, fudge, cupcakes and other mmmm good cookies and pastries.

If you are looking to take the night off from cooking take home some homemade lasagna, meatballs, tamales, soups and other frozen entrees. There is something for everyone. Last don’t forget to look for that special holiday or grab bag gift. Yes fall is here and Christmas will be here before you know it.
